The Canadian Rockies offer some of the most breathtaking and iconic scenery in North America. Characterized by its striking combination of rugged mountain ranges, clear turquoise lakes, dense forests, and dynamic alpine weather conditions, the region offers ideal settings for dramatic compositions and experiments in light and shadow. Iconic locations such as Banff National Park, Moraine Lake, Morant’s Curve, and the dramatic Three Sisters peaks near Canmore are only the beginning.

At Moraine Lake, the intense blue of the water, caused by glacial particles reflecting sunlight, provides a luminous backdrop for sunrise and sunset images, particularly during the summer months when the surrounding Ten Peaks are bathed in warm, golden hues. Morant’s Curve, located along the Bow Valley Parkway, showcases a classic view of a Canadian Pacific Railway train winding through the lush conifer forests and along the curve of the Bow River, all set against soaring mountain cliffs. In nearby Canmore, the Three Sisters—the trio of sharply ascending mountain peaks—stand as unmistakable sentinels above the valley.
