Redwood National and State Parks encompass more than 133,000 acres of diverse forests, scenic coast lines, prairies, and streams. Home of the world’s tallest trees, the California coast is a World Heritage Site and International Biosphere Reserve, which protects nearly half of the world’s old growth redwoods. In addition, the park’s forests, hills, rivers and coastline support a rich mosaic of life, including Roosevelt elk, whales, seals, lush ferns and seasonal wildflowers such as lupine and rhododendron.
In this photo essay, we only see a glimpse of the wondrous beauty of the Northern California coast.
