Almost constant drought and scorching summer heat make Death Valley National Park a land of extremes. It is also a and of striking contrasts: in winter, its towering peaks are frosted with snow, while the all-too-rare spring showers sometimes hasten “super blooms,” vast fields of wildflowers.
