Home to many beautiful sights, including the Alabama Hills, the Owens River, ancient bristlecone pines, Mammoth Lakes, Mono Lake and the Sierra, White and Inyo mountain ranges, the Owens Valley has a rich photographic history. From the 1940s through the 1960s, Ansel Adams made a myriad of iconic images in the area. The legendary Galen Rowell put the Owens Valley on the map with his many epic photographs and his now-closed Mountain Light Gallery in Bishop.
