From massive glaciers, towering peaks, turquoise lakes and pristine Andean forests to plenty of wildlife like pumas, guanacos and condors, Patagonia is a photographer’s paradise.

A vast region encompassing more than 400,000 square miles on the southern tip of South America, Patagonia is sparsely inhabited. The region includes Torres del Paine National Park in Chile and Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina, both renowned for their mountain landscapes.

Famous for its uniquely shaped mountains, blue icebergs from nearby glaciers and the “pampas,” the classic Patagonian steppe, Torres del Paine National Park is one of the most incredible spots for photography.

A UNESCO World Heritage site, Los Glaciares National Park owes its name to the numerous glaciers covering roughly half of its land mass. A striking sight is the famous Perito Moreno Glacier as it meets Lake Argentino and regularly calves bluish icebergs into its waters.

With towering granite peaks, turquoise lakes, gargantuan glaciers and rolling steppe, Patagonia offers spectacular mountain scenery as well as an abundance of interesting wildlife.
